Before anyone replaces a battery for a problem with the clock
losing time, he should check to see whether he's losing time
while the computer is running or while powered off.
If he's losing time while powered off, the problem is very likely
the battery. But if it's while running, it can *not* be the
battery.

Constantly powered on and computer running....and just lost another half an
hour in 12....what is going on??
when I double click on it and select the internet time tab, the box about
automatically synchronizing is checked and the server is time.nist.gov or
time.windows.com but neither option seems to keep the clock up to date. have
i got some control panel settings gone awry?
