You know when u enter a folder and there's a mp3 or an avi file (or a
picture file )
then windows will try to preview it in a little details window to the left.

Sometimes it happens that it can freeze for like a minute or two
and explorer is not responding. Very painfull.... I would like to disable
this feature completelly
i don't need no preview of multimedia in details window.
How do i disable this?

Thx

This tweak speeds the process up by stopping Windows from extracting file
information from AVIs. Don't know about MP3s

Open you registry and find the key below.
System Key: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}]

To disable file information extraction, rename the key and place a minus
sign in front of the current name (i.e.
"-{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}").

Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

Note you can save the registry key first by:
On the File menu, click Export.
In the File name box, type SaveKey, and then click Save.
Or create a system restore point prior to editing.
Note: If the registry key is not there, you can simply create one by going
edit > new.
