cd rom refresh

I'm having a problem with my DVD-ROM and CD-RW drives after installing
Windows XP SP1. The contents on either drives won't refresh after I place
another CD. Windows Explorer does not even display the new volume, much less
the new file list.Only Reboot seems to refresh!
