View Full Version : Password-protected screensaver freezes

On my copy of XP home, I've tried password protecting my
screensaver. The XP style brings up the Welcome screen
after the screensaver is deactivate, at which point I have
to login again. Seconds after I enter the password, the
desktop comes up but the computer immediately freezes. The
mouse is immovable and the computer stops responding (no
messages or anything). In the classic style ("more
secure"), I just get a login prompt after I remove the
screensaver, like the Welcome screen for Windows 98. The
computer does the same thing: I enter the password and it
freezes just after it displays the desktop. How can I fix
this problem?
