xp inf files

Whilst scanning I notice the inf files in XP Pro are very long now, is it
safe and how do you delete.

inf files are simply text files that contain information that various
programs are storing in order to configure themselves. If you delete them,
you may break some applications, or you may simply lose configuration
information - you don't know for sure. It's best to simply leave them be.
