Almost all new drives come with a floppy disk with software to do this for
you. You can also download it from their websites.
If there any data on the drive you need to buy Partition Magic or a program
like it.

Right click on My Computer, click Manage, under Storage, click Disk
Management. Hopefully you will see your slave drive, just click on Help,
type Partition and it will lead you through partitioning your new disk.
After Partitioning enter Format in Help and follow the instructions. The
last step is to type drive letter in Help and your done.
