What is the best way to save old VHS tapes to WMA, MPEG, Etc???

Also, what about converting from a digital video camera to save on the
computer as well?

We have a lot of old VHS tapes, and want to burn them to DVD/CD so they last
longer.

Any suggestions appreciated.

You need an analog video capture card.

Try the rec.video.desktop newsgroup for more help. For this subject matter,
you'll find more expertise there.

I was on the same adventure awhile back and just happened
to stumble upon a website that gave some pretty good
information. I took their advice and purchased :

Dazzle* Digital Video Creator80. It does all the above
you requested information on, is not expensive and is
very user friendly. I have even been able to use it as a
capture device tying my home surveilance camera (please,
its just an X-10 cam) to my PC...works great. Check out
their website, see if you find it useful: www.dazzle.com
Good luck!
