access denied

[david Moore]

I was having a problem with my computer. Instead of
re-formatting and starting over, I un-installed xp and
reinstalled it. Well come to find out I can't Access my old
profile folders. I get "Access denied" message. I've tried
everything. These folders have very important items in it..
Please help me
