View Full Version : Can't right-click on anything

I've been having a problem recently on my computer. I am
running windows XP with a 2.2GHz processor. Every now
and then, I will not be able to right-click on anything
on my computer. No menus, no nothing. Also, during
this "phase", when I Alt+Tab between applications, it
doesn't bring up the little 'menu' with all the active
applications, it just switches between them right away.
This isn't a very serious problem I suppose, but does
anybody have any suggestions??

Thanks,
Dave

Try this, when the problem occurs, go to Control Panel, open Administrive
Tools, open Event Viewer, look for errors that correspond with when you have
this problem, double click the error, the information contained within may
give a clue as to the source of the problem.

Make sure your antivirus software has the latest definitions and then run a
virus scan.

Make sure the drivers for your hardware are up to date, especially for your
graphics card and soundcard and any peripheral connected to the system. Do
not use Windows Update for this, check the device manufacturer's web sites.

Assuming you have an actual XP CD as opposed to a recovery disk, place the
XP CD in the drive, when the setup screen appears, select "Check System
Compatibility." If there's problem hardware or software, this should pick
it up and such items should be addressed to see if it resolves the issue.
