I Have a HP CD-writer 9500 series & I used the backup
sofeware program to backup my family tree. I installed
the XP Home Addition and now it says the driver is not
compatible. Is there a backup program with the XP Home
Addition software,if so where is it located???? I also
uninstalled the cd-writer software after that since it
said the driver that was incompatible would cause
problems. No where do I go from here???

Some of the compatibility problems that XP program reports, is because =
either the hardware/software came out before XP was around. And MS did =
not get the opportunity to check before the release of XP, that it was =
compatible with it. Had the same Compatibility warnings when I installed =
my Lexmark X73 printer, but with XP updated drivers, everything is =
working find. Have you gone to HP and updated the drivers for the writer =
there? Get the one(s) for XP. If the item's website, offers an update =
for XP, that you are pretty sure that it is compatible with XP, with few =
exceptions.

Also use the software that came with the writer, instead of the =
microsoft software for the writer.
