The colors faded when I booted up my computer. On the
screen saver and desk top you can see outlines of the
items but the colors are not bright. Please help.

It's possible your monitor is going bad. Have you checked this monitor on
another system or do you have access to another monitor you can check on
this system. That would be the first step to see if the issue is in the
monitor.
