I need to dl ALL the Windows XP updates but my ISP is too
unstable to stay on long enough and it just restarts and
restarts and restarts and M$ won't let me use DOWNLOAD
ACCELERATOR that restarts the dl where it gets
disconnected. I would like to purchase a CD from M$ with
the updates on it, but finding how to ask them about it is
impossible...I keep getting sent back to a page where they
tell me to contact computer manufacturers about a question
they need to answer.

Anyone know if I can get these updates anywhere but from
M$ on CD or where i can use a download app that reconnects
and picks up the dl in mid dl again?

thanks.

Learn to spell Microsoft and repost your question.
Microsoft is not spelled, nor abbreviated "M$".

Actually, Nicky, many M$ users spell it that way as a
comment on the S standing for Money not service.

>Many ISPs have a time limit where they will dis-connect
you from the net. Do you have "unlimited net access" or
are you alotted so many hours a month? In the XP
connections wizard, there is a place where you can specify
to keep your net connection alive anytime you start you
computer. NORTON SYSTEM WORKS also has this feature. If
you have a friend with broadband, they can download all of
the updates for you to a CD because broadband really flies
and it would not take forever like a dial up connection.

Service Pack 1 (SP1) on a CD can be ordered from 'Microsoft' at the link
below (iether of).
The CD is free (including post) to UK residence but costs (nominal)

See bottom of page.
