I have uninstalled anti-virus program, disconnected
peripherals, still the win xp installation, after first
bootup (after PREPARING INSTALLATION), the installer says
CANNOT CONTINUE SETUP BECAUSE DRIVE C IS CORRUPTED - sort
of. I think this is the 5th times.
Need help, ANYBODY? Thanks in advance.

First, check your hard drive manufactaurer's web site for their hard drive
diagnostic tools and run them. This will tell you if your drive is going
bad. If everything checks out ok, the message would seem to indicate a
problem with the setup over which you are trying to install XP. The next
step would be to use XP to format your hard drive. This will wipe your
drive and you will lose everything so if you can still backup what's there,
a good idea anyway in case your drive is going bad, now would be a good time
to do it.

If you did format the drive and you are trying to install clean, you likely
didn't use XP to format. The procedure for formatting and installing XP
clean is as follows:
Boot with the XP CD in the drive. When you see the message on the boot
screen to "Press any key in order to boot from the CD," do so.

After loading drivers and files, you should be taken to a screen with
the following:

To Setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.
To Repair a Windows XP Installation using Recovery Console press R.
To Quit setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

In your case, press ENTER.

Agree to the License agreement by pressing F8.

You will then be taken to a screen with two options.

To repair the selected Windows XP installation press R.
To continue installing a fresh copy of Windows XP without repairing,
press ESC.

This will bring you to a partition map where you
can delete, create and format partitions.
Select the drive you wish to format, delete the partition, then create a new
partition, format as desired and continue with XP installation.
