Hi all,
I am a new user to XP Pro.
My notebook comes with preloaded XP Pro and a hidden patition for restore. After a
failed installation of 98,the system restore Xp automatically on next time boot
up. But then I found out there is boot menu shows up every startup. like:
-------------------
Windows Xp Pro...
Windows Xp Pro...
Previous Windows ...
--------------------
that's very annoying!
and Control panel->system->advanced->setting->edit shows my boot file
like:----------------------------------------------------
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S.0
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS.0="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Previous Operating System on C:"
----------------------------------------------------------
I know I am using the one in DIR WINDOWS.0.
How can I remove the others to free up spacce?
it's a 6.8G partion, now left me 1.6G free space, no other software
installed on this partition except some updates from Bill.
Anyone could give me a word, Thanks!

If you know for a fact that you're using the Windows.0 folder, then edit the
BOOT.INI file to remove the entry that points to the Windows folder:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect
Then delete the Windows folder.
