I installed XP on a used Gateway computer.
Model: GP6-450 (P2 450Mhz).
XP does not turn the computer off
It re-boot, instead.
Is it a bios setting?
XP setting?
Any advice will be appreciated.

My G6-400 running Win98SE did that after I formatted and installed WinXP
until I installed SP-1.

Hi,

Disable everything that reads 'Wake up' in the BIOS settings. Also, I have
seen this behavior if you have a CD/DVD in the drive during a shutdown.

This edit automatically ends tasks and timeouts that prevent programs from
shutting down and clears the Paging File on Exit.
