I have exactly the same problem as Benny - when I try to
change video options in Media Player (Now Playing >
Enhancements > Video), moving the sliders has no effect -
they always return to the mid point. Any ideas??

With some types of encoders, you cannot use the video enhancements.

Some .avi, some.mpeg. Do a google search for GSpot Video appliance. When
you get a video that cannot use the enhancements, GSpot will tell you what
encoding it has.
