My computer locks up whenever I try to save a video to
the machine. I can go online and watch some movies. I can
watch some movies that are already save on my computer.
However, I can not download any movies or movie clips
onto my computer. The whole computer locks up and begins
to make a clicking noise coming from where the processor
is located. Also, when I try and view some of the movies
I already have stored on my computer the whole thing
locks up. Here is something I have noticed. The machine
will let me open the startup menu and scroll through from
My Documents to my videos and I can then click on a video
to watch it. However, if I try to right clikc and open
the my videos folder without scrolling throught the Start
menu the computer locks up again.
I tried saving movies to other locations but this did not
work very predictably. It only worked sometimes.
I also tried to use the task manager to end the
applications after the clicking starts but it is useless.
The TM pops up but is never able to end the application
and I have to shut down forcibly.
I tried uninstalling WMP and then reinstalling the latest
version but this did not help.
I have also run a complete virus scan, defragged the HD's
and run scandisk. nothing ever come up abnormal.
If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate
them.
