some help pls...
have new pc w/xp and now the screen that pops up whenever
you print something that shows you how much ink you have
left, is viewable but balance amounts of ink is grayed
out. anyone know if there is and update for this printer?

You can look on the Epson web site and see if one is avaiable. The
programs that show how much ink you have left can be way off, they are
only estimates. When you see it not printing then worry about changing
the cartridge.

Epson has a Windows XP driver for your printer on its North America
website. I would put a link to it, but Epson's site uses cgi
programming for each link past its start page, so any link I put up
would expire by the time you clicked on it. I spent 2 minutes finding
the driver by simply entering http://www.epson.com, choosing North
America and finding driver downloads for inkjet printers. There are
many listed. Find yours. You will see immediately that Epson has
released Windows XP drivers for it.

Look at Amethyst's post in this string--the ink monitor is
supplied separately from the driver package from Epson.
Downloading the driver you refer to will not include ink
monitor capability.
