When I upgraded from Windows ME to XP Professional I got a
message my original printer driver was not compatible. I
loaded the generic Microsoft for the HP 722 that was
supplied with windows XP Professional.

If I try to print with the windows setup in control panel
at portrait/landscape and the settings in the document are
not the same printing, prints part of a page and stops.

I have not been able to locate a new driver on the HP page
for the HP 722c Deskjet.

Printing only part of a page is almost always a sign of corrupted
drivers..... and often the result of having the printer still connected
while upgrading from 9x/ME to XP.

Try a total uninstall and reinstall of the printer:

There are three separate steps and all three must be complete for XP to
'see' the new drivers.

Disconnect the printer.

Go into the Control Panel, Add/Remove programs and uninstall any printer
software.

Then go to Printers & Faxes and right click and delete your printer.

Reboot the PC. Do NOT reconnect the printer. Go back to Printers & Faxes
in the Control Panel and from the toolbar, select File, Server Properties.

In the drivers tab, delete all the entries for the printer.

Reboot the PC. Do NOT reconnect the printer.

The latest drivers are on the XP CD, so use the Add Printer Wizard to
install this printer.
