Probably just another case of corrupted or incorrect drivers!
Uninstall the printer completely.....
There are three separate steps and all three must be complete for XP to
'see' the new drivers.
Disconnect the printer.
Go into the Control Panel, Add/Remove programs and uninstall any printer adn
scanner software
software.
Then go to Printers & Faxes and right click and delete your printer.
Reboot the PC. Do NOT reconnect the printer. Go back to Printers & Faxes
in the Control Panel and from the toolbar, select File, Server Properties.
In the drivers tab, delete all the entries for the printer.
Right click on My Computer and select Properties. Click on the Hardware
tab, then on Device Manager. Look for the Imaging Devices line and click on
the + to expand the tree. If there are any Olivetti scanner devices listed,
right click on them and select Uninstall.
Reboot the PC. Do NOT reconnect the printer.
Download a new set of drivers from the printer manufacturer's website at
http://www.olivettitecnost.com/cgi-bin2/olilexproduct/listdrivers.asp
Choose StudioJet300 from the drop down list and it will take you to the page
with the Windows2000/XP drivers on it. You'll need both the one for the
scanner and the one for the printer.
Follow the instructions at the printer manufacturer's website and only
connect the printer when the software tells you to do so.
