I am running MS XP Home Edition. I have installed a DVD-RW
drive, and have Roxio soft wadee that allows me to write
data to a DVD disk. How do I make a mirror image back up
of my hard drive. Windows 98 had such a feature in the
Accessories section. I have search the XP installation
disk and cannot find a backup utility. Would surel
appreciate help.

Go to the valueadd\msft\ntbackup folder on the XP Home Edition cd and
install ntbackup manually by double clicking the file.

The NT Backup program that ships with XP Home Edition can not create an ASR
(Automated System Recovery). As an aside the app can't even backup to CD and
it can not split files. You should look at a decent third party image
program like Norton Ghost 2003 or Powerquest's Drive Image 2002

To make a "Mirror Image" using WinXP's backup utility, you'll have to copy
it to the hard drive first and then copy it. XP's backup won't span H.D.'s.

'Hope this helps,
Milt
