View Full Version : Can't Reboot When Updating From ME

We are trying to install XP on another computer which
currently has Windows ME. After the initial checking of
the system and copying of the files, the setup attempted
to reboot. We are no longer able to boot the computer at
all. We get a message that says "Missing Operating
System". What does this mean and what can we do to fix
this.
Thanks in advance for your help.

You need to set your BIOS to boot from the hard drive now, and not the
CD-ROM.

Sounds to me like they probably didn't mess with the bios, probably just put
the cd in and clicked on "Install Windows XP". Even if they changed the
bios to boot from cd then it would boot from the cd and not say "Missing
Operating System", don't ya think?
