We have installed 50 new computers(Towers and Laptops) on a couple of these
units we are having problems that only 2/3 of the page is printing. We
started with the orig drivers from XP PRO and then removed and went with new
drives from HP for XP, Printers are HP8100DTN, HP8100TN, HP4000TN, HP4050TN.
Even the new print drives from HP did not solve the problem. At the same
time we are switching everyone over to a new WIN2000Server(we only used
TCP/IP Prior for printing). We use Script logic to install the Server print
drivers to the Workstations(default print drivers that came with Server) We
did not have any Problems, as soon as we install the new XP drives for the
printers and remove the 2000server print drivers (Print Server
Properties-both server and workstation). With only the print drivers from HP
web site installed on the server and workstation printers completely
removed. We did a cold re-boot and ran Script Logic to load the XP drivers
only and the problems came right back printing only 2/3 of the page and when
printing landscape the image runs off the left side of the page, like no
margins are set. Another problem is, when creating a new DOC. it says the
margins are out of range. Option is to fix or ignore. If you ignore, it will
print ok(most of the time), if you choose fix it will increase the bottom
margin to 2.67. This is with only the word TEST on the page.
We are using the Win2k server print drivers and they are working at the
present time, they seem to work just fine at the present time, need help
solving the XP driver problems.
