I am running Windows XP Home on a PII 400MHz machine with
384 Mb RAM. I often get this message when receiving
faxes. Very often. Sometimes the transmissions are from
fax machines, sometimes from other computer fax programs,
such as Cheyenne Bitware. But sometimes faxes come
through from those very same machines. It is
inconsistent. This happened with other computers I have
owned, using Bitware, too. I have found no information on
any FAQ sites I have accessed.

Sometimes it means that it was a voice call. Maybe the senders
share the voice line with their fax machine or fax/modem. There is
no way to tell what the type of call is until it is answered.
