Does anyone have any suggestions for a problem printing to
network attached printers using the TCP/IP port:
- I use the add printer wizard to define a printer using
the IP address of the printer. I know the IP address is
correct and the printer is working because I have another
PC with W2KPro that works fine with this setup.
- When I try and print a job to the printer, the print
icon appears in the tray and eventually a printer error
message displays (the job may partially print or not print
at all on the actual printer).
- When I open the print queue, the job appears with Error
in the status field. If I try to delete the job, it won't
delete - I have to manually stop/start the spool service
to clear the job.
I have tried three different models/makes of printer to
see if the problem was related to the driver, but the same
results occur. All work fine under W2K using the IP port.
