Does Ethernet Effect Print Time

I just installed dsl hookup (via preinstalled network
connection) and now it takes forever from the time I click
on print until the printer feeds paper to begin printing
(consistenly 70 seconds). Is this new connection really
the cause, if so what can I do. I have plenty of memory
(512) and speed (1.7). Have unstalled and reinstalled
drivers with no effect. Same system used to take 15
seconds for same procedure and only signifcant change to
system was dsl hookup.

It shouldn't do. How is the printer connected to the PC?
