device manager problems after upgrade to xp pro

[RUSS]

After upgrading from win 98 se to xp pro (Other devices)
list- ?! Multimedia Audio Controller
----- ?! PCI Simple Communications Controller
are flagged up in device manager. The sound card doesn't
work and modem isn't recognised. Any ideas what is
causing this or even better how to fix.

Identify the modem, audio card brands and download appropriate drivers for
Windows XP from the manufacturers site.

drivers from the sound card and modem manufacturers' web sites?
