Laserjet Problem with XP

I just bought a Dell 2350 with Windows XP. My printer is
haywire; it prints more copies than it should and the
cancellation of documents doesn't seem to work. Even
though the status window lists no documents, it still
prints! Also, why isn't there an option to choose the
amount of slides to print?

I didn't have problems with my older operating system.

Please respond asap.
