I am running XP Professional, and have two printers
connected, as well as a print spooler utility program.
Occasionally, after having printed from one of the
printers, I will get the message "The target device is
not connected to a valid output port." Both are
connected via USB. The two printers are a Brother MFC
9700 and and HP 810. The HP always works, it's the
Brother and the spooling program that have a problem.
Just selecting another printer, closing the print dialog
and then opening it again and selecting the same printer
that just gave the error message will result in the job
printing normally. Can anyone help with this - I have
been unable to solve the problem.
