Incoming calss when PC switched on.

Everytime somebody rings and the PC is switched on, it
thinks it is receiving a fax and so generates that
perculiar modem noise associated with sending faxes. A
window pops up un the screen saying that an attempt to
receive a fax has failed - even though nobody has tried
to send me a fax. Any ideas??

Turn off the auto-answer in the fax program. There is no way to
tell what kind the call is until it is answered.
