Printer driver not found

I'm trying to add a printer and Windows XP does not list
the printer, deskjet 612c. According to HP Technical
Support this driver should be available. I've been
working on this for over 2 days can someone help?

It's listed on my system, Odd that HP can't just send it to you or have it
on the their web page for download.

When I run the Add a printer wizard on my copy of XP Pro, select Local
Printer deselect Automatically detect and follow the on-screen
prompts, I can scroll down each list in turn and see HP on the left pane and
HP DeskJet 612c on the right.

What do you see?
