I had the same problem. My computer had Windows XP
preinstalled when I bought it 2 months ago. For some
unknown reason the fax component of Windows XP is
missing. PC Club, the store where I purchased the
computer had no explaination.
I tried installing the fax software that came with my
modem, an Aceex V.92 which claims XP compatability. This
fax software did not fax either.
Finally, yesterday, I purchased WinFax Pro 10.02 (Full
Version CD Only) at VioSoftware.com for $35. I had good
luck with an earlier version of this software on my old
computer.
