Here's my situation-I've Windows XP Home installed and I
was having problems with my Legacy Minolta Pageworks 6E
printer- initially, the printer worked after I downloaded
the new driver, but it decided to go on strike.I then
deleted the driver, downloaded the driver from the
Minolta website, attempted to install. The driver
informed me that the old driver needed to be uninstalled,
so I gave it the go-ahead. It then detected a running
application(Via Installshield?) and told me to shut it
down. I pulled up the Task Manager, closed out the one
running app in the background, but the driver setup spit
back at me. I then attempted to install the old W95/98/Me
driverusing the compatibility wizard,(tried all settings,
W95/98,but no luck. I even went into server properties in
the printer section on the control panel, deleted all the
leftover files from the properties window, but the driver
seems to think there's still an old version on my
box.Does this mean I have to get into the registry
somehow?
PS-The driver isn't digitally "signed" by Msoft.
Thanks,
Jim
