Hi,

I am running XP home, and I'm wondering how to
stop/disable Norton Anti-Virus Live Update.

I have stopped the service, but it still continues to pop-
up at the most inconvienient time (i.e. when I'm playing a
game)

I don't want to uninstall it, I just want to stop it from
being loaded when XP boots up. From time to time I'd like
to use, when I go on the net.

Thanks Philip

This really is not a Windows XP problem, it's one that you could easily find
an answer to on Symantec's website. But....to disable "Live Update" in NAV,
double click it's icon in your taskbar tray. Click "Options". Click "Live
Update". Remove the check mark from "Enable Automatic Live Update".

Hope this helps,
Milt

What I would do is, disable Automatic LiveUpdate options in NAV interface As
well as block the server using ZoneAlarm.

What I would do is find the registration option, do what you have to
including sending in the $24.95 or whatever then run with setup defaults.
There are a lot of people trying to email bad stuff.

Dave,

The idea is not to propogate bad stuff over here. Think in bandwidth point
of view & by doing this you know which programs access the internet. did i
spread bad idea here???
