Having installed the Faxing facility on XP Home Edition,
it works fine, but now Windows does not shut down. After
selecting shutdown,it clears all the icons off the
desktop, but does not get rid of te desktop at all. I have
to power off the Tower to close the PC down altogether.
After uninstalling the faxing facility, it now powers down
fine.
I have now installed service pack 1, but not reinstalled
the Faxing. Has anyone else had this problem?

Being lazy one day, I thought instead of powering it of at
the tower, why not just switch it off at the wall socket
instead (seing it was not completely shutting down)
powering off at the PC tower and switching off at the wall
socket it the same thing. As a result of this I lost my
user profile !!! (now reinstalled).
Any ideas on why this happened as well please?

Your modem driver is not compatible with WinXP Fax.
