happens when i send a written document, the people whom i
have sent this information to are sending me back an e-

Many people do not understand the file association method
used to automatically OPEN a program when a file is
double-clicked. Also, many people do not have all the
possible programs and versions that might be needed to read
attached files.

MS WORD uses .doc as the default file format and most
word-processors will be able to open and read those files
but may not keep the formatting and features WORD uses.
Some programs will not open .doc files. MS WORKS uses the
..wps extension.
If you open the word processor program first and use the
"file/open" command the application program will open the
file IF it has the converter built-in or as an add-on.

This will also apply to MS Excel spreadsheets which can open
a WORKS spreadsheet.

MS has free converters, plug-ins and they also have a free
viewer for people who don't have ANY word processor or
spreadsheet that will allow these files to be viewed and
printed.

Greetings --

Do your recipients have Word and Excel installed on their
computer? They'd need to, to be able to open such files.
