Hello:

I took my computer and had it upgraded from win 98 to win
xp. I got it back today and I can't see anyway to access
my dvd drive or my cd rewritable drive. They don't show
up in explorer. Can you tell me how to fix this?

You should begin with the people who installed XP for you, especially if you
paid them to do it.

Hi Leslie,

See if this helps:

Save the file below to your hard drive. Navigate to where you saved it and
double click the file. A confirmation dialog will appear when the script is
done. You may need to reboot for the change to take effect.

Check if the drives are compatible with Windows XP. Refer the brand names
with Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)

Also, run the fix suggested by Kelly.
