multiple windows opening while off line

When ever I am using my computer off line I get multiple
internet explorer windows opening off line. Can anyone
give me information as to how to prevent this from
happening. About 10 minutes ago within one minute I had
47 seperate windows open and I when this happens I can
only shut down my computer to stop the windows from
opening. Any help that anyone can give me would be
greatly appreciated.

I would do 2 things.
1. Run an AV scanner, use an online one with you dont have an AV product.
2. Download Adaware and run it to clean out spyware.

It sounds like a case of the latter but you can never be too careful

First, run a virus scan and be sure your antivirus software is up to date
before running the scan.

Then download, install and run Ad Aware, www.lavasoftusa.com Be sure to
check for the latest updates for that as well.

If you don't have firewall application, it sounds as though you might need
one. There several excellent firewalls, all of which have free versions:
