Hi,

I'm having problems reading any cd in any of my drives. I
have a CD-RW and a DVD-ROM connected. When I insert any CD
in either drive and try to open it with explorer. I get a
blank listing. Also the CD does not get mounted because I
can't see the label in 'My Computer'.

What is interesting is that if I reboot while the CD's are
in the drives. I can list them, but if I remove the cd and
put it back in the cd-drive, I get the blank listing error.
The problem seems to have affected my floppy drive as
well. When I try to read a floppy, I get a 'disk not
formatted' error.

does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be and
what I can do to reslove it.
I have tried to repair the XP installation to no avail.

regards.
Dal
