Font problems...

I copied some fonts on to my new computer and placed them
in the C:/Windows/Fonts directory. However, my programs
are not recognizing the new fonts, and the folder itself
does not give the usual options, e.g. "Install New Font"
under the File Menu. I vaguely recall having this problem
before, but I don't remember how I fixed it. Can anybody
tell me how to get my programs to see these new fonts? Any
help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Missing Menu Commands in the Fonts Folder:
