error printing

I have had my printer working on xp for ages but just
recently when i send a page to the spool it just
says 'printing - error' and sits like that.

The bjc255sp printer is shared on a network but I don't
think its a network problem because the same happens when
I send to other local printers i.e. pdf writer.

Help?!
