View Full Version : No display of ink remaining in printer

I just recently bought a new computer with XP Home.

When I use my printer, there is no monitor of the ink
available or even which one is low, if that's the case. I
print a bulletin every week and can't afford to guess
which ink I need to replace. Is there anything I can do
or download to fix this problem? I had no problem with
Windows 98 at all. I don't want to have to install 98 so
I can see what ink I need to buy (if and when I do run out
or run low).

Thanks for any assistance anyone may be able to give.

Blessings!

Check the website of the printer manufacturer to see whether they have
updated drivers.... particularly a Status Monitor.

If the printer is old and discontinued, I'm afraid most of the manufacturers
found it uneconomical to write updated drivers for these models. Microsoft
included drivers with XP that enable you to print, but may not have all the
advanced features you were used to like ink status monitor, duplex and
banner printing etc.
