I am using a fairly inexpensive PCI win modem, I picked
it as my new motherboard did not have an ISA port, and I
use it for faxing. I have read that if I have a program
up the uses CPU time that I could have trouble sending
and receiving faxes, today I had lots of trouble
receiving a fax it halted after 3 pages out of 12 a few
times. The MS fax program has worked perfectly in the
past, today this.
I am thinking that it has something to do with the XP
performance problems I have been having where my machine
feels sluggish, there are lots of articles about this
problem. I just ordered a high performance PCI modem
(non win modem). Any thoughts about this would be
