Say more? Using Outlook or Outlook Express? Isn't Outlook Express
installed by default on your XP machine, and all you have to do is
double-click on the icon to start? What is the problem if not that?

You start Outlook (assuming it's installed, of course), the way you start
any other program. Click "Start", "All Programs", "Microsoft Office",
"Microsoft Outlook". If you'd like, put a shorcut to Outlook in your Start
Menu's Startup folder. You can also drag Outlook's icon to the Quick Launch
bar.
