I have an Epson C60 Printer and I am trying to install it
on the parallel port. I have installed the latest driver
from Epson and when Windows starts, there is a message
that says the printer port driver could not be started.
This is the error message from the event manager.....

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Eplpdx02
Event Category: None
Event ID: 3523
Date: 30/07/2003
Time: 11:18:29 AM
User: N/A
Computer: IAN
Description:
The Eplpdx02 service could not be started.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I went to Microsoft, but there was no help on this
subject. I tried the printer on LPT1, but it does not
work.
Any ideas how to get Eplpdx02 (which I beleive is the
driver for the Epson parallel port) to load?

Here is some info that might help.
MSI K7T Turbo M/B
Epson C60 printer
IEEE 1284 printer cable
Windows XP Pro with SP1 and all updates.

Many Thanks.
Ian

Try this-

Delete the printer from Control Panel Printers and Faxes. Delete the
Epson parallel port driver from Start Programs Epson Printers
Uninstall printer port

Shut off the computer in the usual way. Disconnect the printer. Restart the
computer.

Reinstall the printer software.

Restart.
