Have you installed the XP driver from HP?

First let's uninstall the printer and start again:

http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article%20One.htm

Since it's all All in One, there are several additional steps as well as
this article.

Ensure you've uninstalled each part of the software from the Add/Remove
Programs in the Control Panel.

Ensure you delete the Fax icon in the Printers & Faxes part of the Control
Panel as well as the Printer

Ensure you delete any Fax drivers that appear in Server Properties, Drivers
tab.

Right click on My Computer and select Properties. In the Hardware tab,
click on Device Manager and find the line "Imaging Devices". Click on the +
to expand the tree. If there are any HP scanner (imaging) devices listed,
right click and select Uninstall.

Download a new set of drivers from the HP website at:
http://tinyurl.com/buhi
Follow the installation instructions at: http://tinyurl.com/jc7j

Is it working better now?
