I have a file on my PC called event.log which starts out small, but
within an hour grows to over 4 GB in size. I don't know what program
is controlling it or how to turn it off. If I delete it, it just
comes back. The path is c:\windows\system32\logfiles\wmi\event.log.
Does anyone know what this is and how to stop it?
TIA

I suspect it may be an accumulation of events which are saved in log form if
you elect to send error reports when prompted by the MS error screen.
I never do, always cancel out & don't even have an event.log on my system.
