hello.

i've got this new XP desktop and can't figure out how to
connect to the printer over our peer-to-peer network. the
printer, actually an HP multifunction, is linked to the
hub via a JetDirect 500X device. none of this registers
over the network, even when using HP's Install Network
Printer Wizard. at least one of the older computers here
connects to the printer through an IPX/SPX port--if that
helps...

suggestions much appreciated.

thanks,

nikki

Hi Nikki --

You may want to look through the HP support for the JetDirect. It sounds
like that the JetDirect is accepting an IPX/SPX type connection, but not an
IP type connection. You can find information about the JD500X here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Resource.jsp?locale=en_US&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=27315&prodTypeId=18972

I hope this helps,
