For about 3 weeks now, the auto Windows Update in XP Home hasn't
downloaded and installed the updates that it says is downloading and
installing.
I'm using an ADSL shared connection/router.
I get the notice in my systray, click the button to download the
update, but the Tray Icon disappears and nothing is downloaded or
installed. A few days later, I'll get the same file to download and
update, but nothing gets downloaded or updated.
I can go to the Windows Update site online and download and install
the critical updates, everything there works fine.
I've checked the services/dependancies and made sure Auto update is
set to
automatic. And I turned the Auto Updates off, rebooted, and turned it
back on again.. I haven't recieved any auto updates yet to see if that
did the trick.
Any one else having problems with it?
Thanks,
