i am trying to create a ASR disk. Instructions say to go
to backup in System Tools. I have no backup in System
Tools. How do I create the ASR disk.

Download NTBackup utility from here:
http://www.onecomputerguy.com/software/ntbackup.msi

NOTE: If you use Backup in Windows XP Home Edition, Automated System
Recovery (ASR) is not a supported feature. You can use the current version
of Windows XP Home Edition to start the configuration process for ASR, but
you cannot complete the process

If you have no Backup program installed then you likely have XP Home
Edition. In this case you can not do an ASR. You may wish to purchase a
decent third party app that will create an image of your system. Popular
programs are BootIt NG from http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/ or programs
like Powerquest's Drive Image or Norton Ghost 2003
